YOUR next career move could be with a respected Brisbane-based builder known for its strong track record in multi-residential and commercial projects. Specialising in fit-out and refurbishment work in sectors such as commercial, retail, health, hospitality, education, and government, our clients are recognised for fostering lasting client relationships and delivering innovative solutions. Due to ongoing success and expansion, we are currently looking for multiple estimators to join their close-knit teams.

YOUR role will involve being a crucial member of the Estimating team, working on multi-million-dollar projects. You will be supported by a collaborative team and be responsible for preparing BOQs, take-offs, purchase orders, and post-contract variations. Key tasks include conducting accurate and timely trade break-ups of documentation, creating appropriate trade subcontractor selection lists, and liaising with subcontractors to ensure a clear understanding of the scope of works and programme. You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of estimates, identifying levels of contingency and risk for managerial assessment, and managing budgets effectively. Strong pricing skills across all trades, the ability to identify opportunities for cost improvement, and excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail are essential for this role.
  
YOUR experience

• 3-5 years of estimating experience
• Previous work with a building or construction company on a variety of projects
• Tertiary qualifications in construction or quantity surveying
• Engaging with subcontractors and developing loyal, ongoing relationships
• A thorough understanding of the building process and the ability to read construction drawings for accurate pricing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment and staying calm under pressure
• Estimating for Design & Construct and hard dollar tenders, particularly for commercial fit-outs and refurbishments
• Estimating using first principles
• Producing reasonable and appropriate rates with available information
